Whether your problem is thinning hair or acne, there are a few hot, new products on that claim to take away everything from wrinkles to too much hair. The products use some of the same technologies that a dermatologist may have used on you -- lasers, LED lights, and infrared light -- and you can use them all in your own home.
But do they work?
"These products provide at-home versions of procedures typically performed in a doctor's office: light treatments, laser hair removal, or chemical peels," says Linda Wells, editor in chief of Allure magazine.
"In terms of at-home treatments, this is just the beginning."
Wells and some Allure staffers visited The Early Show Wednesday and reported on the effectiveness of products the staffers tried for several weeks.

U.S. researchers have completed the first mechanistic study of how a red blood cell loses its nucleus, shedding light on mammalian evolution. Unlike the rest of the human body's cells, red blood cells lack nuclei and scientists have struggled to understand the mechanism by which maturing red blood cells eject their nuclei. Thai PM outlines plans in his first weekly talk show
BANGKOK, Feb. 10 (Xinhua) -- Thailand's newly elected Prime Minister Samak Sundaravej said Sunday in his first weekly talk show through state TV and radio that he believed he can govern the state to a good future. The talk show, named "Samak Talk", was the first of its kind since his six-party coalition government took office Thursday. Samak disclosed in the program that the Cabinet at its weekly meeting next Tuesday will discuss two important issues, namely the foreign capital reserve requirement policy and the draft government policy. After the 2006 coup, the Bank of Thailand issued a 30 percent foreign capital reserve requirement policy, which has caused a lot of controversies, especially among foreign investors who thought it an obstacle while investing in Thailand.

But there are no panaceas or simple solutions. Nonetheless, this should not be taken as an excuse for inaction. Forest destruction is responsible for 20 percent of global carbon emissions each year.
